I have been in a Downton Abbey haze all weekend, and I can totally see the Dowager Countess passing this beauty down to Mary or Sybil (never Edith) one night after a spirited dinner where the new footman made a scene and someone fainted.  eriebasin: Detail of English Victorian Wing Necklace.  This section removes from the rest of the necklace and converts to an brooch with a clever mechanism that hooks onto the back.
