Maggie Gyllenhaal is so very rad. My friend teaches her daughter ballet and once in a while I think about pretending to be another mother who’s daughter is in the class, so we can chat over coffee and casually become besties. but this would probably happen instead:
me: “oh yes thats… thats my Annabelle over there, she has such trouble balancing on her toes ha-ha..”
maggie: “Isn’t, that, Melissa?”
me: “oh, of course Annabelle is right behind her - I was pointing behind her.”
maggie: “…..my daughter is behind Melissa.”
me: “ok, yes. That is your daughter. I was just joooking, she’s just so adorable, she’s like a daughter to me.”
maggie: ……
me: “ok so i don’t have a daughter. but, listen, this isn’t about them this is about us. we were having such a good time, right?”
