Everyday New York City throws 11,000 tons of material into landfills that could otherwise be recycled to fertilize our gardens, houseplants, window boxes, street trees and parks. So much of what we casually throw away- onion peels, coffee grounds, newspaper, paper towels, orange rinds, egg shells, leaves, dead flowers- have the potential to become nutrient rich, organic and sustainable compost.
On Thursday July 2nd at 6pm come learn how to build and maintain worm compost bins (or just get a better understanding of how to maintain a non-worm compost bin in your kitchen!) for indoor or outdoor use that will not only help your plants or gardens, but help build a greener NYC.
