  • I went to DC this weekend with my great uncle, Philip Marrali. He placed a wreath on the WW2 memorial during the Veterans Day ceremonies, representing the men who fought in the Battle of the Bulge. What a life he’s lived. My weekend was filled with stories and something tells me he didn’t even have enough time to share the best ones.
This is from Arlington Cemetery, where we went the next day. The Civil War never ceases to interest me. This headstone surprised me - two thousand, one hundred and eleven soldiers.  Unidentified, and buried by their fellow infantrymen as they overtook the Arlington house- they set the first headstones on what would later become Arlington Cemetery. We can never tell what our actions will begin.
