About Dynasty and Filoli Gardens:
The producers of Dynasty snubbed Denver by declaring they could not find a suitable posh mansion in the Rocky Mountain city to show us the house of the wealthy Carringtons. Instead, they chose a California landmark, the Filoli Mansion in Woodside, which is operated as a museum by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
The show filmed inside and outside the mansion, as well as in the formal gardens. And four rooms of the house, the front hall, library, living room, and reception room, were later re-created on the show’s Hollywood set.
The name of the estate is an acronym formed by combining the first two letters from the key words of William Bourn’s credo: “Fight for a just cause; Love your fellow man; Live a good life.”
